Generations of the Nevin family worked at the Henry Jones & co. IXL factory during the lean years of the 1890s, 1920s and 1940s.
Two of Thomas and Elizabeth Nevin's sons - Thomas "Sonny" Nevin and George Ernest Nevin - worked in the storerooms and icehouse at various times between the 1890s and 1920s, and two of their granddaughters - Betty and Margie - worked in the labelling and packing rooms during World War II.
Below is a snapshot of Thomas "Sonny" Nevin (b. 1874) ca. 1900 outside the entrance to the icehouse.

The H. Jones & Co. IXL Jams factory has since been renovated as a boutique hotel and arts centre at the Hobart docks: the image below was taken in December 2006.
